About me

Hi!

My name is Christoffer Nilsson, a game developer currently studying at The Game Assembly in Malmö.

I played games throughout my childhood, but I’ve always enjoyed playing with others more than playing alone. I first got into gaming when playing with my brothers on the Nintendo 64, or arguing when we looked at each other’s screens during split screen, like you do.

It wasn’t until much later that I realized I liked programming. What pulled me in was the feeling of creating something from nothing but my own ideas. I applied to a system development education, it was fun, but I felt like something was missing.
I started doing game development for fun during my free time witch I enjoyed, so eventually I applied to TGA.

Now, this far into the TGA education, I know I’ve found what I want to do. Over time, I’ve realized I enjoy working more behind the scenes, especially with engines, tools and pipelines that include other disciplines.

What I like most about development is solving problems that aren’t always visible to the player, but that make everything else work better. Whether it’s improving workflow, building a system, or helping someone else by improving a pipeline, that’s usually where I find things the most interesting.

Outside of development, I spend time with my family, read a bit, and of course play video games.
